How we started, our mission, and our goal.
Started From Scratch
The foundation of present-day New Jerusalem began being laid almost 99 years ago. It’s a storied past filled with defeats, accomplishments, and growth that started in 1923 when a man of God and 12 believers shared a vision of a church that would initiate change. Joe Davis and his congregation gathered in God’s natural elements with the sky serving as the roof and the ground as the pews. A caring atmosphere, quality leadership, and community outreach attracted people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races, and walks of life.
Expressing Our Love for God and Others.
(Mark 12:30-31) Developing devoted disciples who will make disciples (John 15:8). Fostering dynamic worship through biblical teaching, fervent prayer, and exciting praise (Acts 2:41-47). Spiritually nurturing the family as one of God’s dynamic means to perpetuate the Christian faith (2 Timothy 1:5). Educating future generations academically and spiritually (Proverbs 22:6). Promoting and creating economic empowerment (Jeremiah 29:11; Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
Developing Devoted Disciples.
Matthew 28:18 – 20 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
